Support for the capacity for innovation of regions and cities

Numerous towns, cities, cantons and municipalities are exploiting the potential of digitalisation for Smart City, Smart Village or Smart Region initiatives. In this way they contribute to the image of a modern, open Switzerland with a good quality of life. A number of federal agencies are already supporting this. By means of a shared concept and an action plan, the intention is to generate tighter coordination of the Confederation's activities so that synergies can be exploited, possible duplications avoided and the national and international acceptance and visibility of these initiatives extended.
